The first construction started in 1904. In 1906 Poiana Brasov became a tourist winter resort and only three years later the first ski competition in Romania took place. In 1951 Poiana Brasov hosted the International Student Winter Games.    At present the resort looks rather like a small town than like a ski resort, displaying stylish hotels, luxurious suits and classy restaurants.
